British Invasion

The Kooks rocked Salt Lake City for the first time last night, and Hélène, Mike, Liz and I were there to watch it all go down.

Sometimes I think, "Shouldn't you have outgrown this sort of thing by now, Nicki?" But I have a weakness for rock music, I have a major weakness for live rock music, and when a group like the Kooks plays awesome, live rock music on acoustic guitars, I just can't hold back. I love the energy of live shows. There's something about music so loud it completely penetrates you.

Concerts are game changers. You either like the artist a lot more or a lot less when it's all over. The Kooks were awesome. They had an incredible amount of energy throughout the whole show, they were talented instrumentalists, and Luke Pritchard nailed every note, even while jumping around the stage and skipping octaves. It was excellent.

Don't defriend me, but I have never heard of this band until now. I listened to the first song and am now checking them out on iTunes. Nicki, why don't you just send me a CD of all the music you own. Thanks in advance.

I check you blog partly to find out what's cool in the line of sweet tunes. You're a deep down rocker and I so wish you guys could have come down last weekend.
